The completion of Indeed Tower, Indeed.com’s world headquarters in Austin, TX, marks our 10-year anniversary as a company as well as the 10-year mark of EdgeQuarters’ partnership of design collaboration with Indeed throughout North America.

The pinnacle of our portfolio, this campus was unique in several ways. Indeed’s drive to be 90% sustainable in its design gave us an opportunity to source furniture from top commercial vendors such as Andreu World, Davis, Hightower, Keilhauer, OFS, Scandinavian Spaces, Stylex, and more. The furniture is not only award-winning in sustainability, but it is of the highest quality, with craftsmanship designed to last for many years.

Another component that elevated this office design was the introduction of the Aurora palette.

By expanding beyond the company’s logo colors, we were able to create more interesting and complex compositions. Each floor has a leading color concept that we layered with complimentary hues for a more dynamic design. Because of the furniture vendors we were able to source, extensive customization was available, like the ability to select a unique pop of color for the frame or leg of a chair, custom fabrics to further enhance the palette concept, and power integration for optimum usability.

Creative space planning is yet another element that enhanced this project.

Furniture pieces such as the Bob Modular Sofa, from Scandinavian Spaces, have unlimited flexibility to create unique movement throughout the space. Another interesting piece is the In and Out chairs by Andreu World that not only give privacy and sound attenuation but also create division of space and height creating a form of interior architecture.

When space planning, we often use planters for the purpose of creating barriers that also give a cozy and semi-private arrangement, such as the Tess planters by Hightower used for this project. Live, faux, or both in combination, give life and happiness to spaces.

The final elements of this successful office installation were the accessories.

Here, we included custom pillows in a variety of curated fabrics as well as books and other compelling decorative items—all of which offer warmth, interest, and create an inviting atmosphere.

Sustainability, an expanded color palette, high quality commercial-grade furniture, creative space planning, and thoughtful accessorizing—combined with an incredible team of architects, designers, contractors, and installers—all helped to make this office project a success as one of the most revered campuses in America.
